CAST NEWS

Sarah Michelle Gellar our beloved "Buffy" is officially the sexiest woman in the world according to British Men. The results of FHM magazine's annual poll, widely regarded as a sort of 'lads' Oscars were revealed to the world this Friday. According to the BBC, Gellar certainly has become a hot property in Britain -- she placed 81st in the same poll last year!
Female readers seemed to disagree voting Jennifer Lopez the world's sexiest woman. Lopez, who appeared with George Clooney in "Out Of Sight," topped FHM magazine's 100 Sexiest Women In The World poll (for which 150,000 women had cast their votes), pushing the better-known Cameron Diaz into second place. Our Sarah weighed in at No. 3, ahead of more established sex symbols like "Titanic" star Kate Winslet (fourth) and "Friends" stars Jennifer Aniston (sixth) and Courteney Cox, (seventh)." Fighting off strong competition from last year's winner, Jenny McCarthy, Louise Nurding and Catherine Zeta Jones, the Buffster jumped a massive 80 places from her previous position to claim the top spot.

An interview and very nice photo also appear in the new issue of Empire magazine, again promoting Cruel Intentions which opens in the UK on 18/06/1999. The US video release of the film is set for 24/08/1999.

Alyson Hannigan co-stars in another film which just began shooting in Los Angeles. Beyond City Limits sees Alyson, Nastassia Kinski, and Jennifer Esposito playing three women who outsmart unsavoury men who try to cheat them out of their take in an almost-botched casino heist. Alexis Denisof (Wesley) also features in the film.

Despite the poor box office performance of recent teen horror films such as 'Idle Hands', 'The Faculty', and 'Disturbing Behavior,'' filmmakers David and Scott Hillenbrand are proceeding with their thriller 'Pinata', starring a bevy of young television actors in lead roles. Nicholas Brendon, Nate Richert, Garrett Wang, and Jaime Pressly have been tapped to star. 'Pinata' tells the story of an ancient Central American village's desperate attempt to rid itself of a dark evil force that is cast out into a ceremonial pinata. Centuries later, the pinata is unearthed by a group of college students during a fraternity/sorority Cinco de Mayo scavenger hunt. Cracked open, the pinata's sin-filled soul escapes and the students must battle its vengeful evil spirits.

Charisma Carpenter, who plays glam-girl Cordelia Chase, will not jump on the Tae-Bo bandwagon, reports Entertainment Weekly. The 28 year old former aerobics instructor and San Diego Chargers cheerleader says that the exercise, a blend of boxing, Tae Kwon Do, and dance, is too dangerous.
