Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) |
| Buffy Summers is the slayer, the one in her generation chosen to kill vampires and defend human kind against evil. She used to live in LA where she first discovered her powers and was expelled from school after she burnt down the gym fighting vamps. She came to live in Sunnydale and starts at Sunnydale High where she meets Alexander Harris (Xander) and Willow Rosenberg. Here for the first time she also meets Giles her Watcher. He has been chosen to train and inform Buffy of impending danger and how to fight the demons and vamps she will encounter. This is also the first time she learns that Sunnydale is infact above the Hell mouth where all evil converges to produce exceptionally high levels of supernatural activity (Lucky Her!). Anyway she starts fighting off these Vampire and meets Angel at the Bronze who she falls in love with, blady bla bla, you can imagine the rest. Angel turns out to be a vampire which puts her in a tricky situation if you see what I mean. | |

Xanders (Nicolas Brendon) |
| Alexander Harris is best friends with Willow. He and she have known each other forever and went out when they were five . He also had one other good friend who I can't remember the name of who dies early on in the first episode. When he first meets Buffy he falls madly in love with her and is kinda infatuated throughout most of the first and second series. Anyway because of Angel his love goes unrequited and he eventually hooks up with Cordelia. His role in the Vampire Hunting is to sit around in the library with Giles and Willow feeling depressed and making witty remarks once in a while. He does sometimes help but is a bit of a wimp compared to Angel and Buffy. | |

Willow (Alyson Hannigan) |
| Willow Rosenberg is the school super genius. She is best friends with Xanders who she by coincidence has fancied for ages (Seeing a bit of a love triangle emerging here). Her main function was until Buffy came along to stay unnoticed and do homework for the more popular kids. Anyway when Buffy shows an interest she jumps at the chance of helping her and Giles using the computer. It is hard for her seeing Xanders infatuated with Buffy and comes close to getting him for herself a number of times. She does get a boyfriend eventually but I am not quite sure of the circumstances (England are a series behind). I think Willow is largely unappreciated by the rest but I've heard rumours that she discovers new powers apart from her intellect that make her more useful. | |

Angel (David Boreanaz) |
| He is the one who stole our sweet innocent Buffys heart and for that crime alone (And I don't think Xander would disagree) he should be stabbed many times in the heart to damn his blood sucking soul to eternal hell (Phew! glad I got that out of my system). He is a vampire who has had his soul returned to him as punishment for sparing the life of a potential victim. He decides to start and help Buffy by turning up clad in the usual leather jacket and white T-shirt in the Bronze and deliver some cryptic message which often confuses the situation. He also seems to turn up just at the right moment to save Buffy when she gets into trouble and because of this she soon fell in love with. I think that about enough said. | |

Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) |
| Rupert Giles is the rather odd watcher, he is the typical American view of English people. Studied at Oxford, unbelievably intelligent, adverse to all technology, perfect accent and a complete geek. Well in order not to shatter and Americans stereotypes that is a perfect representation of the English "Very Goood now lets all go out for tea and scones shall we, har har har". He is also one in a generation chosen to train the slayer and prepare her for any stuff she needs to slay and interpret profacy, that sort of stuff. He is a complete book worm and can't understand any for of twentieth century technology especially computers. Funnily enough he falls in love with a computer genius in Miss Calendar. Giles isn't particularly useful in the vamp hunting but no-one else could research and predict events like him. | |

Cordilia
Chase (Charisma Carpenter) |
| Cordelia Chase is the resident BITCH at Sunnydale, she is the most popular student in the school and the guys she hasn't dated aren't worth mentioning. She use to spend her time ignoring people and being nasty to Willow but since Buffy arrived has spent most of her days getting abducted and then saved again. Cordys character though goes through a bit of a metamorphosis and she begins to be almost likeable (What am I saying!) after she learns about the Vamps and the Hellmouth and whilst keeping up her bitchiness in school she starts helping with stuff and eventually so I hear starts dating Xander. | |
