SHOW NEWS!

A Spin off series to Buffy is planned centring on the character of Angel. It is rumoured Angel and Cordelia from this point on (season 4) will only appear occasionally in B:tVS. Everyone on the show is in a 5 year contract. No one is leaving. However, David and Charisma's contracts are being released so they can sign with the Buffy spin-off. It will be shown at  9:00-10:00 p.m. Joss Whedon, the executive producer and creator of ``Buffy the Vampire Slayer,'' combines supernatural adventure and dark humour in the next chapter of this story. Just as Whedon brought the monsters of adolescence to life with 'Buffy,' this new one-hour series will explore early adulthood with the same irony with which he viewed Buffy's experiences as the slayer. The 250 year old vampire, Angel (David Boreanaz') cursed with a soul, has left the small town of Sunnydale and taken up residence in the City of Angels. Los Angeles proves to be the ideal address for a fallen vampire looking to save a few lost souls. With the help of Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and a disreputable mentor, Doyle (Glenn Quinn'), Angel has one last chance to save his own soul by restoring hope to those impressionable young people locked in a losing battle with their own demons. From executive producers Whedon and David Greenwalt, the series is produced by Mutant Enemy, Inc. in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television.
The Fourth series of B:tVS will move from the High School setting to a college setting. Despite cranking up their publicity with constant trailers earlier in the week, What's My Line pt1 came and went on SKY One with little fanfare from the channel. A few extra frames were added to the ice skating sequence for some reason; otherwise the episode remained unchanged from it's previous showing. Part 2 follows this Friday at 8pm.

Sky are currently showing Buffy on Fridays, 8:00PM

The BBC is not going to show any more Buffy until the autumn. In the autumn the series will continue where it left off (i.e. episode 6 of season 2) until the end of the second series with rumours of it carrying on into some of series three. It will still be in its usual 6.45 slot which the BBC does not regard as a children's slot, but as a time suitable for programs such as Star Trek and The Simpson's. The main reason given for the hiatus over the summer is the disruption that will be caused to the 6.45 slot by sports coverage. It is worth remembering that even if the BBC had not taken Buffy off the air when it did, it would have had to do so a couple of weeks later since was contractually obliged to wait until Sky had finished showing those episodes.

Contrary to previous rumours, The Whistler character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer will not be featuring as a regular character on the new Angel spin-off TV series. According to a piece on the series in the new Entertainment Weekly, Glenn Quinn, who was previously reported to be playing Whistler, is actually playing an undead character named Doyle.
